Saiga and Alban contacted me four days before their wedding. That’s right, four days. As their original photographer could no longer attend their wedding, they needed someone who would document their day, and time wasn’t really on their side. Luckily though I had that day still free in my calendar, and I was glad I could help them. My own wedding was still a fresh memory and I felt for Saiga and Alban and just wanted to make sure their day went on how they have planned it. And then I felt like the luckiest girl in the world, because they are just so sweet, and kind people, and I’m so happy I got to know them and could be there during their wedding!
They have met years ago while they were both studying to become pastry chefs. Saiga even prepared a cake and different kinds of macarons for the reception, which was heavenly. During our brief time for the portraits we went to Ruoholahti and roamed on the channel side. When we were done with the portraits, they just had a moment and started to dance. It was just one of those really special wedding day moments you can’t make happen, but it unfolds and is so magical.
It was an honour to give these two lovebirds some photos of them celebrating their love.
The reception took place in the Teatterimuseo in Kaapelitehdas which gave a really unique setting for the dinner. To top it all, Saiga and Alban arranged a Murder Mystery game for the guests, who all went on looking for clues and asking Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson questions for their investigation.
The dinner was closed with chocolate fondue, and cake, and of course the couple took their first dance to Elvis’ evergreen ballad, Can’t help falling in love.
