One of my most favourite things to photograph is maternity. There is something really precious about how a soon-to-be-mother looks forward to the birth of her baby. Counting down the days, watching her belly grow and expecting her life to change completely.
This is something I can’t really put into words but always feel privileged to witness. These sessions can be really intimate yet fun, and I think there is no-one more beautiful than a woman expecting a child.
Laura and Henri wanted to have light, airy photos which captured these moments, expecting their first child. We also took photos in Kaivopuisto, on the pier where they also had their wedding photos taken a few years ago.
It was one of those simply gorgeous summer days when against all odds and weather forecast it ended up being infinitely sunny and bright – and it was especially nice on the seashore and in the park. I hope you’ll like these photos as much as I do!
