Eva-Stina and Timo started to date a few years ago on a snowy December, so when I asked them when would they like to have their engagement session, they were asking if we could have snowy photos. So I checked the weather forecast for the week and we set up our session on a weekend when it was still really cold. Luckily the day of the session I woke up to heavy snowfall, and I was thrilled to be able to take all the snowy romantic photos they were hoping for.
As for the location, they have picked Vanha Kirkkopuisto – the Old Church Park, since they will be tying the knot in the Old Church later this year. As I made my way to the center on a Sunday morning, it looked really like something out of a winter fairytale. The city center was almost completely empty. It seems everybody else decided to stay in on that Sunday morning, so we had all the park to ourselves, and with a lot of fresh pristine snow!
After that we escaped to Café Ekberg to melt out a bit and chatted about their wedding plans over a cup of coffee. After the ceremony in Vanha Kirkko they will pick a venue near the Helsinki seaside – and maybe even go there by a sailboat, since Timo has been sailing with his family for a long time. I’m really looking forward to be there and document their day as well, hopefully with a bit more sunshine and warmth!
